UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES

For the past four years, I’ve created branded graphic design work for the University of Missouri Libraries used across multiple locations.

I started working with The University of Missouri Libraries system my freshman year, eager to get involved and build my resume. The graphic design position was the perfect opportunity. Each month, I’m assigned a variety of projects, all tied to different areas of the library system. I follow brand standards set by the University, to which I was granted full access. Some of my designs are featured in our main library, Ellis, in the form of posters, newsletters, and handouts. I also created window decals for another Missouri library that was undergoing construction. For the past three years, I’ve designed an annual report, which highlights the library staff’s achievements and is shared with the entire team for feedback and contributions.

ANNUAL REPORT

For the past three years, I have been responsible for creating the annual report for the University Libraries, showcasing the various branches of work and successes achieved throughout the year. Given the time it takes for staff members to compile their contributions at the start of second semester, the reports is typically released in mid-February. The report spans about 12 pages and is printed for the team to have a physical copy, ensuring everyone has access to read about the accomplishments and progress made across the library system.

MISC. WORK

I regularly work on smaller projects, supporting the library system’s promotion of on-campus events. I create announcements and flyers to help spread the word. When the University acquired a new book-picker, I was tasked with designing a sticker that was ultimately used as a handout for engineering students, helping to raise awareness and excitement about the new addition. I’ve made advertisements for events related to Homecoming, and “fake” social media posts to be hung around the libraries.

HEALTH SCIENCES LIBRARY RENO

In the Summer of 2024, our Health Sciences Library underwent a renovation, and I was tasked with designing door and window decals to cover the construction site. After experimenting with a few drafts, I presented two final designs, both of which the HSL team really liked. They ultimately chose the darker version, which was then printed as a sticker and applied to the windows and doors, concealing the construction area while maintaining a professional aesthetic. There was a QR Code available to scan, which led to further details relating to the renovation.
